Privacy Policy

The Visionites · Last updated 06.26

The Visionites ("we", "us", "our") respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit thevisionites.com, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to visitors, enquirers, mailing-list subscribers and customers.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and EU GDPR, The Visionites is the data controller for the personal data described below. You can contact us at any time at info@thevisionites.com.

What we collect

We only collect information that you choose to give us or that is gathered automatically when you browse the site.

Booking and contact enquiries.

When you use our contact or booking form, we collect your name, email address, and any other details you include in your message (for example event dates, venue, or the type of set you're after). We use this to respond to you and to arrange bookings.

Mailing list.

If you sign up to our newsletter, we collect your email address (and your name, where given) so we can send you updates about releases, shows and dances. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

Cookies and analytics.

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies, including analytics tools such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. This may include your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site. Where required by law, analytics and non-essential cookies are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent or adjust your preferences at any time.

Purchases.

When you buy merch, music or tickets, checkout and payment are handled by third-party platforms (for example Bandcamp, Shopify or Stripe) embedded in or linked from our site. Your card and payment details are entered directly with those providers and are processed under their own privacy policies — we never see or store your full payment-card details. We may receive limited order information, such as the items purchased and your name and email, so we can fulfil and support your order.

Why we use your data

We rely on the following legal bases under UK and EU GDPR:

  • Consent — for sending marketing emails and for setting non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Contract — to respond to booking enquiries, arrange performances, and fulfil purchases.
  • Legitimate interests — to run, secure and improve our website and to keep basic records of enquiries and sales, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to keep records (such as transaction records) where the law requires.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, including our website host, email/newsletter platform, analytics provider, and the e-commerce and payment platforms named above. These providers act on our instructions and are bound to protect your data. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK and EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision) to keep your data protected.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. Booking and contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Mailing-list data is kept until you unsubscribe. Order-related records are kept as long as required for accounting and legal purposes. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's settings.

Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@thevisionites.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.

Children

Our site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
